Red Pine Natural Area Pathway
This 1.4-mile pathway winds through the Roscommon Red Pines Natural Area in Au Sable State Forest. Here, you'll encounter a breathtaking grove of virgin red pine, one of the finest stands in the Central Lowland U.S. This pristine forest, a relic of the vast pine expanse that once covered the region, also boasts a national champion red pine.
The trailhead is located in Roscommon County, just 8 miles north of St. Helen via F-97 and Sunset Road.
