The Upper Grand River Water Trail is divided into three segments - the Upper Grand River Water Trail, the Chain of Lakes Trail and the Portage River Water Trail - in Jackson, Ingham and Eaton counties. The water trail offers users accessible, safe and enjoyable recreational opportunities and paddling adventures. The Upper Grand River Trailhead is located 1.2 miles west of the intersection of US-127 and M-50 with a parking lot and boat launch at Vandercook Lake County Park. There is an additional trailhead at the Chain of Lakes near Interstate-94 and Mount Hope Road.
