Safe Delivery

Safe Delivery allows parents to safely surrender their newborn child no more than 72 hours old to an employee who is inside and on duty at any hospital, fire department, police station, or by calling 9-1-1. This program is a safe, legal and anonymous alternative to abandonment or infanticide and releases the newborn for placement with an adoptive family. Safe Delivery Hotline: 1-866-733-7733.

You can surrender your newborn baby no more than 72 hours old to an employee who is inside
and on duty at a hospital, fire department, police station, or by calling 9-1-1.

Accepting A Surrendered Newborn

The role of an emergency service provider (ESP) is to accept newborn babies surrendered by a parent.

Educators provide support and resources and serve as a trusted role model to many
adolescents and young adults. We rely on their support to increase public awareness and
educate adolescents and young adults about the options available for those dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.

Providing Loving Families

Adoption agencies are responsible for accepting surrendered babies and identifying loving families to adopt them after they are surrendered to an emergency service provider.
