Persons serving in the U.S. Military outside of
Michigan, who, at the time of enlistment, were residents of Michigan and who
have maintained resident status for the purposes of obtaining a driver license
or voting, may purchase any hunting or fishing license that does not require a
separate application, for $1 upon presentation of leave papers. The license is
valid for up to two weeks and the license buyer can designate the exact hunting
or fishing period. To purchase the $1 military discount license, you must bring your leave papers to any of our License Vendors or to any DNR Operations Service Centers.
NOTE: A
military person stationed in Michigan may purchase a resident license at any
licensing agent location, regardless of residency status.
