The Engineering Operations Committee (EOC) is MDOT’s principal technical policymaking body on engineering, research, and related matters. It is supported by seven subcommittees throughout the department. EOC members include several high-level technical expert engineers from each of MDOT’s technical bureaus and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and is chaired by MDOT’s chief operating officer. They meet monthly, as needed, determining and approving long and short-range technical policy, as well as new and upcoming material or methods related to pavements, bridges, structures, traffic, safety, maintenance, pavement markings, and environmental and innovative contracting.
