LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today appointed Don Leclair to the Michigan Education Trust Board of Directors.

"Don Leclair's exceptional work in the financial industry will play an instrumental role as the board helps Michigan families invest in their children's education," Snyder said.

Leclair, of Canton, previously served as chief financial officer of Ford Motor Co., where he was responsible for treasury, the controller's office, planning and analysis, corporate development and investor relations. He also supervised Ford's Motor Credit Co. and Hertz Corporation. Before he served as CFO, Leclair worked as a corporate controller, controller of North American automotive operations and in a finance position with Ford. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.

Leclair will represent a person with knowledge, skills and experience in the academic, business or financial fields. His will serve the remainder of a three-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2011, and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of John Hale.
