Michigan Statehood Day Activities will be held at the Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing on Saturday, January 24, 2009, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Statehood Day 2009 honors the 172nd birthday of the Great Lakes State. On January 26, 1837, Michigan joined the Union as the nation's 26th state.

Experience the museum when it "comes alive" with costumed interpreters, craft demonstrations and musicians celebrating Michigan's past.
