Nick Khouri was appointed as Michigan's 46th State Treasurer by Governor Rick Snyder in April of 2015.
The Department of Treasury is responsible for collecting, disbursing, and investing all state monies. The Department also administers major tax laws, property tax laws, and safeguards the credit of the state and its local units of government. Additionally, Treasury invests retirement funds of Michigan's state employees, public school employees, state police and judges. Treasury also distributes revenue sharing monies to local units of government, audits municipal finance records, and reunites abandoned property with its rightful owner(s).
