LANSING, MICH. The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) encouraged parents tonight to contact their child care provider before bringing their child in for care this week.
“Providers are trying to make the best decisions they can based on the information they have received from health and government leaders,” said Larry Horvath, director of the Bureau of Community and Health Services. “We encourage parents and guardians to reach out to their child care providers prior to bringing their child to the care facility.”
LARA also encouraged child care providers to contact the parents or guardians of children in their care to inform them if the child care facility will be open or closed.
Information around the COVID-19 outbreak is changing rapidly. The latest information is available online at a state website focused on the issue, and at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
