MI Safe Schools Testing Program

COVID-19 testing is not a requirement for schools, however, testing is one of many tools that can be used to reduce the spread of COVID-19. To support schools that incorporate COVID-19 testing into their plans, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is offering rapid antigen testing to K-12 schools, as well as vendor supported testing to help alleviate the testing burden on school staff and volunteers.

Multiplex Testing Program

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Multiplex Testing Program was developed to assess the benefit of simultaneously testing for COVID-19, Flu A, and Flu B versus testing solely for COVID-19, given that these illnesses present very similarly. The Multiplex Testing Program is available to any K-12 school that has a school nurse or school health/wellness center. Please see program update and FAQs below:
