Multi-system Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) occurs as multiple organ systems become inflamed. Many children with MIS-C had the virus that causes COVID-19, or had been around someone with COVID-19 several weeks before appearing ill.

With cases of COVID-19 on the rise in Michigan, experts are concerned that cases of MIS-C will be on the rise as well.
