  • Americans with Disabilities Act (federal)

    The ADA is a federal civil rights law prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities. The ADA guarantees people with disabilities have equal opportunities to be employed, purchase goods and services, and participate in government programs.

  • Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act (state)

    The Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act is a Michigan law passed in 1976 that protects individuals with disabilities from discrimination. Key areas include employment, housing, public accommodations, education, and public services.
