Executive Order 2015-2, issued by Governor Rick Snyder in January of 2015, created the Michigan Interagency Council on Homelessness. The Council is designed to develop, adopt and update an Action Plan to end homelessness. The Action Plan shall include evidence-based improvements to programs and policies that will ensure services and housing are provided in an efficient, cost-effective, and productive manner. The Action Plan shall be coordinated and tailored with the Federal Strategic Plan, "Opening Doors," to meet the needs of this state's homeless population. The Council consists of 13 members and is housed within the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
