Second Annual 'Race to Build the Monument 5k' looks to Honor Michigan's Fallen Law Enforcement Officers
June 10, 2019
The Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument (MLEOM) Fund Commission will celebrate and honor the lives of Michigan law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty during the second annual Race to Build the Monument 5k walk/run on Sunday, June 23, 2019. The community-oriented fundraising event will raise awareness of Michigan’s fallen heroes while generating funds to help raise funding to go toward maintaining a memorial to commemorate fallen law enforcement officers in the state of Michigan.
The 5K walk/run will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and race results will be posted online by Playmakers.com. The run/walk will begin at 2 p.m. and start and end at 608 W. Allegan Street, Lansing, MI 48933, located near the site of future Memorial Monument. The future memorial site is located within the Veterans Memorial Park, at the corner of Allegan Street and Butler Boulevard, directly south of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in downtown Lansing.
