This semi-modern campground, located on the northern shore of Houghton Lake, offers excellent fishing opportunities. Houghton Lake is Michigan's largest inland lake totaling more than 20,000 acres in size. Amenities include a modern restroom building (no showers). The sites are suitable for tent and small trailer use.

The campground is located 8 miles north of Houghton Lake via West Houghton Lake Drive and Old US Highway 27.

Recreation Passport required

A Recreation Passport (park pass) is required for vehicle entry into all state park and forest campgrounds.

Bullhead, crappie, largemouth bass, Northern pike, smallmouth bass, sunfish, walleye and yellow perch are caught in Houghton Lake. The boating access site for Houghton Lake is located off site. Additional nearby fishing opportunities nearby include the Muskegon River (2 miles west) and Higgins Lake (6 miles north).
