This rustic campground features a lakefront picnic area and great opportunities for fishing and paddling. The campground is heavily wooded and most of the campsites have direct access to the lake. The Manistee River and Au Sable River are nearby and offer excellent canoeing and fishing opportunities. There are numerous canoe liveries available in the Grayling area.
There are 37 sites for tent, small trailer and large trailer use. There are 9 walk-in sites that require you to hike in from a designated trailhead. The campground is located 6.6 miles west of Grayling via M-72 West, McIntyres Landing Road, Regimental Way and Euclid Avenue.

What to expect, finding a site
These rustic campgrounds offer stunning river and lakefront settings, perfect for fishing, boating, and paddling. Here's what you can expect:
- No reservations. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- There are vault toilets.
- Potable (drinking) water is available from a hand-pump well.
- No electrical available.
- Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk at each campground.
- Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay.
- One camping unit and six people are allowed per site.

Fishing
Bass, pike and panfish are caught in Lake Margrethe. Nearby fishing opportunities include the Manistee River (3 miles northwest) and the Au Sable River (5 miles east).
Paddling
Explore the Lake Margrethe from the campground. Carry-in access is located directly from some campsites, at the picnic area on the north side of the campground or at the boat launch at the south side of the campground.

A picnic area is located at the north end of the campground and includes four picnic tables and lake access.

Campsites #1-3, 29-32, 34 and 36 require a hike in from a designated trailhead. The shortest hike is 10 yards, and the longest is 30 yards.
