Tomahawk Creek Flooding State Forest Campground
Tomahawk Creek Flooding Campground, a popular fishing destination known for its submerged timbers, features 47 rustic campsites divided into two units. The east unit (sites 1-24) and west unit (sites 25-47) accommodate tents, small trailers, and large trailers.
The area is also renowned for hunting and wildlife viewing, with elk, bear, and deer frequenting the region. Hikers and mountain bikers can access the High High Country Pathway just down the road.
The campground is located 12.5 miles southeast of Onaway via M-33 South and Tomahawk Lake Highway.

There's a boating access site perfect for motorized boats (west unit boat launch) and a undeveloped launch (east unit boat launch) that's better suited for carrying in canoes and kayaks.

What to expect, finding a site
These rustic campgrounds offer stunning river and lakefront settings, perfect for fishing, boating, and paddling. Here's what you can expect:
- No reservations. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- There are vault toilets.
- Potable (drinking) water is available from a hand-pump well.
- No electrical available.
- Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk at each campground.
- Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay.
- One camping unit and six people are allowed per site.
