The Porkies has downhill ski and snowboard runs for skiers of all skill levels and abilities, from groomed beginner runs to powder tree runs to steep expert runs.

The DNR maintains more than 20 miles of trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat-tire biking. These trails are multi-use trails, please be courteous of all trail users.

Disc golf

The 18-hole disc golf course, open late May through mid-October, winds through the woods and up to the ski hill, offering a beautiful view of Lake Superior.

Open for the 2026 season

Your next adventure starts here! We’re open Friday–Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST (weather permitting).

Due to extreme temperatures, the ski hill is closed Friday 1/23 and will open at 11 a.m. EST Saturday 1/24.

Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway or a full season of turns, we offer both annual lift passes and daily lift tickets. A Recreation Passport is needed for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks.

There's no additional fee to enjoy the groomed winter trails.
