The GISUSERS Listserv list provides a method for efficient communication between Michigan GIS users of all skill and education levels. Both public and private sectors of the GIS community are encouraged to participate.

How to subscribe to the ListServ

If you wish to subscribe to the ListServ, send an email message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.MICHIGAN.GOV. In the body of that email enter the following: SUBSCRIBE GISUSERS

You will then receive 2 email messages, one with a general description of the GISUSERS ListServ and another with some commands you can send to the ListServ to modify your subscription.

How to unsubscribe to the ListServ

If you wish to have your name removed from the ListServ, send an email message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.MICHIGAN.GOV and in the body of the email enter the following: SIGNOFF GISUSERS

You will then be removed from the ListServ.

Examples of possible items suitable for submission are listed below.

Telling others about an interesting GIS related magazine article or web site you think others should be aware of. GIS related classes or seminars you have attended and found to be valuable or found to be not so helpful. GIS data standards are also a good topic for discussion.

Note: Let's refrain from flaming. Criticism of organizations, people or products should be constructive in nature.

Maybe you have written a GIS related script that's been a big time saver and you are willing to share it with others, you are working on an interesting project that you feel others might be interested in hearing about, or perhaps you are working on a project and want feedback. Maybe you are considering a purchase of GIS related hardware or software, or have comments and questions concerning data sharing and integration. You could ask list subscribers for suggestions.
