Using, generating, and sharing evidence about effective strategies to support students gives stakeholders an important tool to accelerate student learning. ESEA emphasizes the use of evidence-based activities, strategies, and interventions (collectively referred to as “interventions”).
The following links provide resources available to schools identified for CSI, ATS, or TSI.
EWIMS is a data-driven, decision-making process that helps educators systematically identify students at risk of dropping out, examine the underlying causes, match needs to interventions, and then monitor progress and the success. Information on EWIMS can be found on the MDE's EWIMS webpage (www.mi.gov/mde-ewims).
A comprehensive framework of research-based strategies designed to meet the individual needs and assets of the whole child. Information on MTSS can be found on the MDE'S MiMTSS webpage (www.michigan.gov/mtss).
Regional Assistance Grants (RAG) are awarded to Intermediate School Districts and Educational Service Agencies with schools designated as CSI and ATS in their constituent local school districts. RAG funds are used to support continuous improvement activities and initiatives consistent with the ESSA requirements for schools implementing CSI and ATS plans.
