Governor Granholm Appoints Francis "Bus" Spaniola to the Michigan Judges Retirement Board

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced today the appointment of Francis "Bus" Spaniola to the Michigan Judges Retirement Board. Spaniola, of Corunna, is a retired governmental consultant, a former teacher, and former Michigan State Representative.

The board oversees the Judges Retirement System administration and provides for a retirement system for members of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Circuit Courts, District Courts and Probate Courts in Michigan.

Mr. Spaniola is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring March 31, 2007. He succeeds Eric Doster whose term has expired. This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
