Governor Granholm Announces Appointments, Reappointments

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the following recent appointments and reappointments:
 
Interagency Task Force on Employee Misclassification
 
Lizabeth A. Estlund Olson of Lansing, acting director of the Unemployment Insurance Agency, Department of Labor and Economic Development, is appointed to represent the Unemployment Insurance Agency for a term expiring December 31, 2010.
 
John H. Finn of Grand Ledge, administrator of the Wage and Hour Division, Department of Labor and Economic Development, is appointed to represent the Wage and Hour Division for a term expiring December 31, 2011.
 
Jack A. Nolish of Huntington Woods, director of the Michigan Workers' Compensation Agency, Department of Labor and Economic Development, is appointed to represent the Workers' Compensation Agency for a term expiring December 31, 2011.
 
B. Craig Orr of Novi, senior deputy director of the Department of Management and Budget, is appointed to represent the Department of Management and Budget Business Services Administration for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
 
Douglas B. Schafer of Dewitt, bureau director of the Michigan Department of Treasury, is appointed to represent the Tax Enforcement Division of Treasury for a term expiring December 31, 2008.
 
The Interagency Task Force on Employee Misclassification was created by Executive Order 2008-1 as an advisory body within the Department of Labor and Economic Growth.  It is charged to examine and evaluate misclassification enforcement mechanisms in Michigan and make recommendations for more effective enforcement.
 
These appointments are not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
 
Michigan Municipal Bond Authority Board of Trustees
 
Richard A. Huebler of Allen Park, former mayor of the city of Allen Park, is reappointed to represent residents of the state for a term expiring January 1, 2011.
 
The Authority provides Michigan local units of government and schools an alternative source of financing for infrastructure projects and low-cost access to the public finance market. 
 
This reappointment is subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
