LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Supply Chain Management Development Commission:     

Richard Blouse Jr. of Birmingham, president and CEO of the Detroit Regional Chamber, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

David Closs, Ph.D. of Williamston, chair of the Department of Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

John Daly III of Flushing, manager director of the Genesee County Road Commission, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

John Evans of Milford, president of Evans Distribution Systems and chair of the International Warehouse Logistics Association - Michigan Chapter, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

Lydia Gutierrez of Dearborn, president of Hacienda Mexican Foods, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

David Haynes of Port Huron, director of business attraction with the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, is appointed to represent individuals nominated by the Senate majority leader who are residents of this state and live within one mile of an international border crossing, airport, rail yard, intermodal facility, port, or other major transportation infrastructure that has significant impacts on the local residential community for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

Ronald Holzgen of Shelbyville, secretary and treasurer of Michigan Teamsters Local 406, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

Markus Knecht of Port Huron, finishing and shipping superintendent with Domtar Paper Company, is appointed to represent individuals nominated by the speaker of the House of Representatives who are residents of this state and live within one mile of an international border crossing, airport, rail yard, intermodal facility, port, or other major transportation infrastructure that has significant impacts on the local residential community for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

Maureen Krauss of Rochester Hills, deputy director of the Oakland County Economic Development and Community Affairs Department, is appointed to represent individuals who have education in, experience with, or knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

Simone Sagovac of Detroit, program manager for Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision, is appointed to represent individuals nominated by the speaker of the House of Representatives who are residents of this state and live within one mile of an international border crossing, airport, rail yard, intermodal facility, port, or other major transportation infrastructure that has significant impacts on the local residential community for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

Olga Savic Stella of Detroit, vice president of business development with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, is appointed to represent individuals nominated by the Senate majority leader who are residents of this state and live within one mile of an international border crossing, airport, rail yard, intermodal facility, port, or other major transportation infrastructure that has significant impacts on the local residential community for a term expiring December 31, 2010.

The Michigan Supply Chain Management Development Commission, created within the Department of Treasury, is charged with creating a road map for attracting, supporting, marketing, and growing the international trade, supply chain, and logistics industries by advising on the development and coordination of state transportation and economic development policies.

These appointments are not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
