LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment and designation of Emery C. King to the Michigan Film Advisory Commission.  Mr. King, of Bloomfield Hills, is owner and vice president of Kingberry Productions Company.  He previously served as news anchor for WDIV-TV (Channel 4) in Detroit for 19 years and recently signed a contract with the station to host documentary specials and lead Local 4's televised town meetings. 

Mr. King is appointed to represent areas of film, motion picture making, production of television programs and commercials, and related industries in Michigan for a term expiring December 19, 2005.  He succeeds David Burton who has resigned.  Mr. King is also designated to serve as chairperson of the Commission for a term expiring December 19, 2005.  He succeeds former chair Geoffrey Fieger. 
 
The Michigan Film Advisory Commission assists the Michigan Film Office in promoting the state’s film, television and video production industries, and attracting media business to Michigan. It also has the responsibility to advise the Governor, the Department of History, Arts and Libraries (HAL), Film Office, and the Legislature on how to promote and market Michigan locations, facilities, crews, talent and related services.
