Granholm Appoints David Murkowski Judge of Kent County Probate Court

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of David M. Murkowski as judge of the Kent County Probate Court.
 
Mr. Murkowski, of East Grand Rapids, has been an attorney in the Grand Rapids area for over 20 years, first serving as a solo practitioner from 1983 to 1993, and most recently as a managing partner with Dilley, Dilley, Murkowski & Goller, PLLC law firm.  He is a board member for West Michigan Guidance, a nonprofit mental health service, and also a guest lecturer at Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University. 

Mr. Murkowski graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Marquette University. 

Mr. Murkowski is appointed for a term expiring on January 1, 2009.  He replaces The Honorable Janet A. Haynes, who has resigned.
