RSB Group will help Miller Brothers expand, create new jobs in Homer

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today joined company leaders, local officials, and more than 150 employees in Homer to celebrate a new partnership between India-based engineering and automotive components manufacturer RSB Group and automotive supplier Miller Brothers Manufacturing Inc.  Last month, RSB Group finalized a $19 million acquisition of Miller Brothers.  It is the largest foreign investment by an Indian company in the state of Michigan.

"RSB Group's decision to grow and do business in Michigan is a testament to our outstanding workforce and competitive business climate," Granholm said.  "This investment will keep and create jobs in Homer by ensuring Miller Brothers remains competitive in today's global economy."

Miller Brothers was founded in 1946 as a tool and die shop.  The company, which remained family-owned until this recent acquisition, has grown into a $30 million operation that manufactures quality precision machined parts and assemblies for the automotive, railroad, and aerospace industries.   The company currently employs 150 people.  Through its partnership with RSB Group, Miller Brothers will be able to implement its expansion plans which include new product lines, new customers, and at least 100 new jobs over the next five years.

Headquartered in Pune, India, RSB Group is a $100-million conglomerate specializing in the design and manufacture of systems for commercial vehicles; passenger cars; and construction, farm, and off-highway equipment.
