LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced her first probate court appointment when she appointed Tracey Yokich as the Macomb County Probate Judge.

“Tracey will be a dynamic and fair judge for the citizens of Macomb County,” Granholm said.  “I know she will make an extraordinary judge and will serve the people of Michigan with the highest honor.”

Yokich, of St. Clair Shores, most recently served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Macomb County and as an assistant judge advocate for the Michigan National Guard at Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

Previously, Yokich served as vice president of Seger Financial in Birmingham. She also served as a state representative from 1991 to 1996.  Prior to entering the Michigan House of Representatives, Yokich was assistant corporation counsel in Macomb County.

Yokich earned her law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law and a bachelor’s of arts degree from Michigan State University.
