LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointments of Florise R. Neville-Ewell and Bernard “Bernie” Gliberman as members of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).
“Florise and Bernie will work hard with MSHDA on its critical efforts to provide housing to our citizens who are in need of safe housing,” Granholm said.
Neville-Ewell currently serves as a sole practitioner for the City of Detroit Law Department where she has worked as chief in the contracts section and as general counsel for the housing commission. Previously, Neville-Ewell served as an associate at Hongiman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn and as an assistant professor of law, property, and finance at the Wayne State University College of Law.
Gliberman is currently president and sole shareholder of Crosswinds Communities, Inc. He has been responsible for more than 10,000 homes throughout the United States. At age 21, he was made a full partner in a Detroit residential/commercial development and property management firm. He has managed Crosswinds Communities since 1971.
MSHDA was created to finance safe and sanitary housing for low-income and moderate income families, senior citizens, and the handicapped.
Both appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
