Producer-Agency Contracts

Contracts negotiated between the producer and insurer or the producer and solicitor are not regulated by our office. Disputes between producers and insurers relating to their relationship must be resolved through the civil process. However, producer-insurer and producer-solicitor contract language may not contain any provision which is prohibited by or in conflict with the Michigan Insurance Code. Conflicting provisions in such contracts would be considered null and void and not enforceable.
