How Do Members Use Contracts?

More than 240 contracts are available to MiDEAL Members.  MiDEAL is completely voluntary - Members decide what and how to maximize their savings through the program.

Step One.  Visit the "Contract Listing" area of this site for an up-to-date list.
Step Two.  Find contracts of interest from the list.
Step Three.  Review the contract online, and make direct contact with the designated vendor to make a purchase.
Step Four.  If you don't find the contract you are looking for, contact us to see if we can help.

Purchases may be made from State contracts through MiDEAL under the following provisions, and violation of these provisions may be grounds for removal from the program:

  • MiDEAL Members shall make all purchases from State contracts for public use only.  Purchases made through the contracts for personal use or consumption by any individual, public employee, or official are prohibited.
  • MiDEAL Members are prohibited from making purchases from State contracts and subsequently reselling the item(s) to non-members, including private companies.
  • All items delivered under contracts awarded by Purchasing Operations should be inspected immediately for compliance with the contract specifications.  MiDEAL Members should seek replacement of any items not meeting specifications.  Compliance failures should be called to the immediate attention of Purchasing Operations.
  • State contracts may not be used as a price umbrella or mechanism to manipulate price.  Attempts to utilize State contracts to manipulate price are detrimental to the integrity of MiDEAL and are in violation of sound purchasing practices.
  • MiDEAL Members participating in State bids that are based on definite quantities are entering into an irrevocable commitment (see Types of Contracts).
