External Quality Review

External Quality Review (EQR) is a federally required activity of state's to comply with Medicaid managed care regulations at 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 438.364 and the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.  The report identifies various aspects of care furnished to Michigan Medicaid beneficiaries by the Medicaid health plans.  This report describes the manner in which data from EQR-mandated activities were aggregated and analyzed, and the conclusions drawn related to the following:
  • Quality of care
  • Timeliness of care
  • Access to care
