The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the medical license of Audberto C. Antonini, M.D. of Canton. The MDCH Bureau of Health Professions orders a summary suspension when it believes that the public's health, safety, and welfare warrant emergency action.

The summary suspension was based, in part, on allegations that Antonini engaged in sexually-explicit internet chats with a 13 year-old undercover persona, for the purpose of arranging to engage in sexual activity with a person that he believed to be a minor male child. Antonini was arrested after showing up at a pre-arranged location in order to engage in sexual activity with the person he believed to be a minor male child. On March 9, 2008, Antonini was arraigned on two felony counts: (1) child sexually abusive activity, a 20-year felony, and (2) computers-internet - communicating with another to commit crime, a 20-year felony (the criminal matter remains pending).

On March 19, 2008, the MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Antonini's license pursuant to the Public Health Code. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Antonini's medical license.
