The Michigan Department of Community Health recently has received funding from the Ethyl and James Flinn Foundation, a private foundation that supports projects within the public mental health system. This funding is being used to improve Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services for Adults who have serious mental illness. The foundation awarded $30,000 to the department to train fifteen ACT teams on how to use the Field Guide to Michigan ACT. ACT is a community-based mental health service that serves seriously mentally ill adults. Previous Flinn Foundation grants funded an initial study, and the development and piloting of the Field Guide to Michigan ACT.
