The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has immediately suspended the medical license of Labeed Sami Nouri, M.D., based on his convictions in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, Oakland County, Michigan. Nouri, 39, failed to report his convictions to MDCH as required by the Public Health Code.

On May 7, 2008, Nouri was convicted of first degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony, and two counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct, both misdemeanors. As a result, Nouri was sentenced to incarceration for a minimum period of 10 years (with credit for 700 days), and ordered to pay fines and costs totaling $833.20. Additionally, respondent was sentenced to comply with sex offender registration requirements and serve a lifetime tether upon his release from prison. Dr. Nouri is currently incarcerated at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility.

On July 2, 2010, MDCH issued an order summarily suspending Nouri's license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional's license upon the conviction of a felony, a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of two years, or a controlled substance-related conviction. Dr. Nouri's license expired Jan. 31, 2010.
