The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has immediately suspended the pharmacy license of Daniel E. Lohmeier, R.Ph., based on his convictions in the 30th Judicial Circuit Court, Ingham County, Michigan.

On May 26, 2010, Lohmeier, 47, was convicted of two felony counts of attempted Medicaid fraud-false claim. As a result, Lohmeier was sentenced, in part, to probation for a period of 18 months and ordered to pay fines and costs totaling $2,596.00, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.

On July 22, 2010, the MDCH issued an order summarily suspending Lohmeier's license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional upon the conviction of a felony, a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of two years, or a controlled substance-related conviction. Lohmeier's license is due to expire on June 30, 2011.
