The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the dentistry license of Billy S. Lim, D.D.S., based on his felony convictions in the 30th Judicial Circuit Court, Lansing, Michigan. Lim failed to report his convictions to MDCH as required by the Public Health Code.

On July 11, 2007, Lim was convicted of two counts of Medicaid Fraud - False Claim, a felony. As a result, Lim was placed on probation for a period of up to 48 months and was ordered, to pay fines, costs and restitution in the amount of $1,300,520.00.

On October 15, 2007, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Lim's license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional's license upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Lim's dentistry license.
