In this course, you will learn about the legal and financial responsibilities of being a teen parent - this includes the payment of child support. In addition, you will gain an understanding of the demands and requirements of parenting. This course will give you an overview of what it is like to be a teen parent.

Please note that this is not a sex education course; it is a course to build awareness of the realities of teen parenting.

This course consists of the following units:

  1. Why Learn About the Legal and Financial Responsibility of Teen Parents?
  2. Facts About Teen Parents With Children.
  3. Establishing Paternity and a Legal Father.
  4. Marriage and Parenting Realities.
  5. Providing Financial and Medical Support.

These units are further separated into sections. You may access the units and sections in any order by clicking in the menu at left. However, if it is your first time going through this course, it is recommended that you move through the topics in the order presented.

To read definitions of terms used in this course, click the Glossary link at left.

It will take approximately two hours to complete this course. If you are unable to complete the course in your first attempt, you may return to the course later and begin where you left off.
