Snyder makes appointment to Michigan Board of Chiropractic

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today appointed Constance "Tina" Erskine, of Grand Ledge, to the Michigan Board of Chiropractic.   

The nine-member board sets the entry-level competency standards for health practitioners and verifies continuing education during licensure, protecting and promoting the public's health, safety and welfare.

"Tina is a great addition to this board," said Snyder. "Her broad and extensive background in personal fitness and wellness will assist the board in overseeing the practice of the state's more than 3,000 chiropractors."  

Erskine is owner of Training by Tina LLC, a Pilates, yoga and personal training studio in Lansing. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a wellness provider with multiple certifications in fitness techniques, and serves as adjunct faculty at Lansing Community College. Erskine is a member of the Aerobic & Fitness Association of America and the American Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and holds an associate's degree in general studies from Lansing Community College.

Erskine will represent the general public and serve the remainder of a term that expires Dec. 31, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of Kathleen Jean Thompson. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
