The Internal Revenue Service opened the Individual Income Tax (IIT) 2016 filing season on January 19, 2016. Michigan began retrieving and acknowledging IIT e-file returns on that day.
Beginning January 2016, the Michigan Department of Treasury is processing City of Detroit IIT returns. The City of Detroit return may be included as part of the Michigan return.
