Detroit Office Relocation to the Cadillac Place Building/ April 19th

The Detroit office of the Bureau of Workers' & Unemployment Compensation will relocate to new office space on Friday, April 19, 2002. The new office location will be:

 

Cadillac Place (formerly the GM Building)
3026 West Grand Boulevard
Suite 3-700
Detroit, MI 48202

The main telephone number for the Detroit office will change when we move. The new telephone number is 313/ 456-3650.

 

Parking for visitors is located at two surface lots. One lot is across the street from the Fisher Building between Lothrup and West Grand Boulevard on Second. The other surface lot is off of Lothrup behind the Hotel St. Regis and New Center One Building. The entrance to that lot is from Lothrup. It is just past Second but west of Woodward. Magistrates with pretrial days on Wednesdays or Thursdays have been asked to reschedule all cases scheduled before them on April 17th, 18th or 19th. Magistrates with pretrial days on Mondays or Tuesdays have been asked to reschedule all cases on April 22nd or 23rd. This will allow for the court reporting equipment to be uninstalled at our existing location, and then reinstalled at the new location.

 

Mediators have been asked not to schedule any mediation hearings on April 18th, 19th, 22nd or 23rd.

 

The file room will close on Thursday, April 11th at noon so that the contested case files and medical records can be packed up and moved to the new office location on Monday, April 15th. You should plan accordingly.

 

Notices will be mailed to all interested litigants around April 1st on all contested claims scheduled on or after April 22nd. The notice will advise the litigants of the new office location, telephone number, and parking information.
