Baraga State Park

Baraga State Park, set along Lake Superior's scenic Keweenaw Bay, is popular for hiking, kayaking, camping and ORV-friendly recreation. It's also a great basecamp for those touring western Upper Peninsula destinations.

The park is one of just a few state parks that allow the operation of an ORV between the campground and nearby ORV trails. The park connects to Twin Lakes and Bewabic state parks and Bond Falls Scenic Site via several motorized routes.

ORV and snowmobile route and trail maps are available for purchase at the park (pending availability) or by visiting MI-TRALE.org (online maps of signed ATV, side-by-side and multi-use trails in the Western Upper Peninsula), DNR's interactive ORV route and trail map or DNR's interactive snowmobile trail maps.

The Bishop Baraga Shrine, the Sturgeon River Gorge, Mt. Arvon (Michigan's highest point), Canyon Falls and other attractions are nearby. The park is 54 miles to Bond Falls, 47 miles to Agate Falls, 75 miles to Copper Harbor, 69 miles to the Porkies and 73 miles to Marquette. For more information on local events and trails, visit Baraga County and MI-TRALE.org.
