Lakeport State Park

The park's day-use operating dates are Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Lakeport State Park, located 10 miles north of Port Huron, features a little over a mile of rocky Lake Huron shoreline. The park is home to a modern campground, playground, a buoyed swim area and much more. A pedestrian overpass connects the two sides of the park, separated by US-25.

Location info: The day-use area and campground are separated by the village of Lakeport, with the two areas being about a mile apart. The campground is located at 7605 Lakeshore Road and the day-use area is located at 43.105475, -82.488804.

Simple Adventures – located in the north campground – sells food, souvenirs, camping supplies, park-specific clothing, ice cream, candy, firewood and more.

The entire park is open to metal detecting. Please review applicable regulations. Only registered campers can metal detect in campgrounds.

There's a picnic area in the Franklin Delano Roosevelt (south) day-use area.

Picnic shelter

A picnic shelter located in the Franklin Delano Roosevelt day-use area, one mile south of the campground along M-25, is available to rent for group activities and family reunions. The shelter can be reserved up to a year in advance by calling 1-800-447-2757 or visiting midnrreservations.com.

    This modern campground is situated along the Lake Huron shoreline. The 194-site north campground offers lake views from select sites, pull-through options, 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups, a playground and two toilet/shower buildings.

    This modern campground is situated along the Lake Huron shoreline. The 56-site south campground, while not directly on the lake, features 50-amp electrical, paved parking pads and a modern toilet/shower building.

    The Cedar Mini Cabin, located in Lakeport's Modern South Campground, comfortably accommodate four guests with provided bunk beds and mattresses. Each cabin features electricity, lighting and handcrafted wood furniture. There's no bathroom in the cabin; however, a toilet and shower building is located nearby.

    Enjoy outdoor amenities like a paved parking area, picnic table and fire pit at each cabin.

    The White Pine Mini Cabin, located in Lakeport's Modern South Campground, comfortably accommodate four guests with provided bunk beds and mattresses.     The Lakeport camper cabin is located in the north area of the campground with a direct pathway to the beach. It sleeps 6 with two bunk beds and a sleeper sofa and has electricity, baseboard heat, a kitchen cart and mini-fridge. Includes access to two campground restroom/shower buildings (within 500 feet).

    The cabin has two-car parking and is ADA accessible.

    The Lakeport Group-use Campground, located close to Lake Huron, offers a tent-only rustic camping experience. The site features a nearby vault toilet, picnic tables, grills and several fire pits. There are jug fillers in Lakeport's Modern South Campground. This site accommodates groups of up to 60 people.

    Reservations are required and can be made by calling the park office.
