Accessible Recreation at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources

People with disabilities appreciate the outdoors as much as those without disabilities. In this program, staff from across the DNR highlight:

  • accessible hunting
  • accessible fishing
  • accessible features at state parks
  • accessible shooting ranges
  • how project accessibility can impact grant applications
Plus, you'll hear messages from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and DNR Director Dan Eichinger, and members of the DNR Accessibility Advisory Council share personal stories of their enjoyment of and involvement in furthering accessible recreation.

Accessibility Notice: All ADA 30 events hosted by the State of Michigan will include ASL interpreters and closed captioning services. Individuals who need a reasonable accommodation or other assistance for effective participation should contact accommodations coordinator Alayna Lail (MDCR) at 313-437-7035 or LailA@Michigan.gov to make their needs known as far in advance as possible, but preferably at least 3 business days prior to the scheduled event. All reasonable efforts will be made to procure requested accommodations prior to the event, but requests may not be guaranteed.
