Cost of the Flu Vaccine
Most health insurance plans cover the cost of a flu vaccine at little or no cost. If you are uninsured or underinsured, there are still options available to help you get vaccinated.
Free Flu Vaccines for Children (Under 19)
The Michigan Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program provides vaccines at no cost for children under 19 years old who are:
- Medicaid-eligible.
- Uninsured.
- Underinsured.
- American Indian or Alaska Native.
To access VFC vaccines:
- Ask your healthcare provider if they participate in the VFC program, or
- Contact your local health department.
Free Flu Vaccines for Eligible Adults (19 and Older)
The Michigan Adult Vaccine Program (AVP) provides vaccines at no cost for eligible adults who are uninsured or underinsured.
Vaccines are available through participating providers, including:
- Local health departments.
- Federally Qualified Health Centers.
- Tribal health centers.
- Migrant health centers.
