Costs Futures for Frontliners Covers
Futures for Frontliners will ensure that when you get your semester bill from the community college, the following items will be free to you:
Futures for Frontliners is a last-dollar program. That means that any Pell Grant funds and tuition-restricted scholarships or awards (with the exception of the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)) you receive are applied to your tuition and fees bill first, with Futures for Frontliners paying the remaining in-district tuition, mandatory fees, or contact hours not covered. If you don't qualify for a Pell Grant or tuition-restricted scholarships or awards, Futures for Frontliners will pay the full cost of in-district tuition, mandatory fees, and contact hours.
The following are not to be subtracted from the calculation of the award:

Even as a Futures for Frontliners participant, you will be responsible for the following items.
When applying to a community college, ask them to estimate these costs that are not covered by Futures for Frontliners to avoid any surprises when you receive your bill. Also see Are there other costs of going back to school?
