The state and date of residency on your Fee Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application will help us determine if you meet the state's residency requirements for scholarships and grants and in-state tuition. If you are 24 and older, when you submit your FAFSA, you must have maintained continuous Michigan residency for at least 12 months, starting from July 1, 2019. If are younger than 24, you are considered a dependent and your parent's state and date of residency is used to determine your residency.
If your Futures for Frontliners scholarship award was denied based on residency and you believe this is incorrect, please contact the community college you attend or plan to attend and ask them about how you can verify this information.
