Oakland County Michigan Works! Observes Annual Increase in Online Job Advertisements

The Oakland County Michigan Works! area had nearly 37,300 online job advertisements in August 2026. This accounted for more than 17 percent of Michigan’s 215,000 online job advertisements in the month. The number of online job advertisements in the county has increased by about 2,200 (6.4 percent) since August 2025.

In August 2026, Sales and related occupations accounted for 11.9 percent of online job advertisements within Oakland County. This was followed by Management occupations (10.7 percent), Healthcare practitioners and technical occupations (8.8 percent), and Business and financial operations occupations (7.9 percent).

Online job advertisements were posted by a diverse range of companies across Oakland County in August 2026. Stellantis, an automotive manufacturing corporation, accounted for 5.7 percent of online job advertisements within the county. Corewell Health and Henry Ford Health had the next greatest share at 1.7 percent each.

Nearly 18 percent of online job advertisements in Oakland County were in the Manufacturing sector. This was about 6 percentage points greater than the share seen statewide. Health care and social assistance accounted for 13.5 percent of online job advertisements across the county, lower than the 14.6 percent share seen statewide.
