Coming in 2026: New Asbestos Management Information System (AMIS) for Asbestos Accreditation, Licensing, and Project Notifications
AMIS 2.0 is going digital: Online payments, 24/7 access, email notifications, and more – from the MIOSHA Asbestos Program
There’s nothing you need to do right now — but here’s what to expect in early 2026.
The upgraded AMIS system (AMIS 2.0) will streamline how individuals and companies manage applications, licenses, training, project notifications and more.
There will be no new or increased fees associated with this upgrade.
What's new in AMIS 2.0:
- 24/7 online access for individuals and companies
- Online payment options, including e-check and credit card
- Electronic notifications for renewals and project fee reminders
- Ability to upload required documents directly
- Access to previous accreditation, licensing, notification and training records
What's changing:
- Every account — individual or organization — must have a unique email address due to MiLogin access requirements.
- Accredited individuals will be required to use a personal physical address as their primary address. Employer or organizational addresses can still be used as a mailing address.
- Primary communication for renewals and notifications will be sent by email, not U.S. Mail.
- Accredited individuals may authorize a proxy to submit and pay on their behalf. Proxies must be reauthorized each year.
- Notifications of asbestos abatement projects will be done directly to MIOSHA, no longer accomplished via other state agencies. You will still be required to notify the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) in addition to MIOSHA for some projects.
More information will be shared as the launch date approaches.
