Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission
Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission
At the Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission, we stand as a beacon of advocacy, inclusion and celebration for Michigan's diverse LGBTQ+ community. Our charge is to ensure equal representation, amplify voices and foster a state where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, feels affirmed and valued.
As a bridge between the community and the government, we work tirelessly to support policies and initiatives that reflect the needs and aspirations of the LGBTQ+ population.
Enacted under Executive Order 2023-5, we are a dynamic advisory body within the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, championing the rights and well-being of individuals within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other identities in the spectrum. The Michigan LGBTQ+ Commission is dedicated to serving as a vital advisory force, collaborating with the governor, LEO and various stakeholders to shape policies, eliminate discrimination and enhance the overall quality of life for the LGBTQ+ community.
Whether you're a member of the LGBTQ+ community, an ally, or an advocate, your voice matters. Join us in creating a Michigan where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live authentically and with dignity.
