Interlochen State Park
Located just 15 miles southwest of Traverse City, Interlochen State Park is set along Green and Duck lakes. The park is home to camping, paddling, fishing, swimming and much more.
The park was established as Michigan's first state park by the Michigan Legislature in 1917. In 1928, the national music camp, Interlochen Center for the Arts, was established on the property adjoining the northern boundary of the park.
Interlochen Center for the Arts is adjacent to the park and hosts hundreds of concerts and events all year.

There's an accessible boating access site and accessible kayak launch located near the picnic area in the day-use area. There is also a boating access site on Green Lake.
Modern restrooms
Accessible modern restrooms are available in the beach house in the Duck Lake day-use area.
Paddling
There are plenty of paddling opportunities on Green Lake and Duck Lake. There is an accessible kayak launch located on Duck Lake near the picnic area in the day-use area.
Picnic shelter
The shelter can be reserved up to a year in advance by calling 1-800-447-2757 or visiting www.midnrreservations.com. There's an accessible path leading to the shelter and accessible pad adjacent to the charcoal grill.
Concessions or store
Simple Adventures – located in the beach house in the day-use area on Duck Lake – sells food, camping supplies, firewood, ice, park souvenir concessions and rents kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.
EV fast-charging station
There are free, self-pay EV fast-charging stations in the park.
Fishing
Bass, pike and bluegill can be found in both lakes during the summer months. Smelt and pike are favorites of anglers who like ice fishing.
Nature programs
Seasonal naturalists offer nature-based programming at the park during the summer and/or fall. Check the park's explorer program calendar for dates, locations and topics.
Paddlesport rentals
Simple Adventures – located in the beach house in the day-use area on Duck Lake – rents kayak and stand-up paddleboards Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Interlochen Duck Lake Modern Campground
The modern campground is divided into two sections, including the north and south campground loops. Most sites are generous in size and are shaded by oaks, maples and virgin pine, and many are within view of Duck Lake. The virgin pine stand is one of the few remaining in the state.
In the north campground loop, there’s a short path to Interlochen Center for the Arts. In the warmer months, you can even hear the sound of the many outdoor concerts and performances.

Interlochen Green Lake Rustic Campground
The rustic campground is divided into two sections, including the 600 and 700 loops. Most sites are generous in size and are shaded by oaks, maples and virgin pine, and many are within view of Duck Lake. The virgin pine stand is one of the few remaining in the state. There’s no electrical service. Hand pumps for potable water is available at two hand pumps in each loop.

Interlochen Rent-A-Tents
There are two army-style tents located on a platform. The tents sleep six and include two sets of bunkbeds and two cots. There’s access to electricity and a light. You are allowed to set up one additional tent; however, camping units (ie. pop-up camper) is not allowed.
Please bring your own bedding and cookware.

Interlochen Camper Cabin
There are camper cabins in South A, South B, and North A.
The camper cabin in South A includes a stairway to the lake, electric heat, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee pot. It is ADA accessible, but no pets are allowed. The camper cabin in South B sleeps up to six people and includes an electric fireplace, refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee pot. It is ADA accessible, but no pets are allowed. The camper cabin in North A sleeps up to six people and includes an electric fireplace, a refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee pot.

Interlochen Group Use AreaFor reservations call: 231-276-9511
This rustic group campground is available for youth groups up to 80. There are picnic tables available in the site and a fire pit. Potable water is available at the sanitation station or outside the beach house in the day-use area on Green Lake.
To reserve the group camp area, please call the park office at 231-276-9511.
